Highlights of the 2007 award winner’s accomplishments are as follows:





Forest Altherr participated in numerous athletics during his high school years, took first place in the Los Alamos Triathlon in the 2005 under 18 age-division and held an officer position in the Key Club. Forest plans to study Biology in hopes of pursuing a career as a physician.

Marie Baumgartner participated in Dressage Club and served in the NJROTC’s most prestigious role of Executive Officer. Marie will attend West Texas A&M University and plans to major in Equine Industry an interest she cultivated by working for several summers at Girl Scout Camp, Elliott Barker.

Kevin Ecke earned his Eagle Scout Award as a member of Boy Scout Troop 129 of White Rock. He participated on numerous high school athletic teams and was co-captain of the Boy’s Varsity Soccer team. Kevin will attend Colorado College, at this time he intends to major in philosophy with hopes of pursuing a career in law.

Sierra Gutgsell participated in Key Club, Spanish Club and Student Council. She served as the Policy Debate Capitan on the Speech and Debate team. Sierra will study business and political science at the University of New Mexico with hopes of pursuing a career in law.

Micayela Martinez participated in Deca, Girl Scouts and numerous community service projects. At present she is working as a student intern in the Industrial Hygiene and Safety Division at LANL. Micayela will attend the University of New Mexico and plans to study Political Science.

Larisa Secilli Keeler participated in Choir, Deca, Student Council and worked part-time much of her high school career. Secilli will attend New Mexico State University and plans to major in elementary education with hopes of becoming a teacher.

The Foundation encourages members of the community to support the Foundation by growing its endowment through tax-deductible donations for the betterment of Los Alamos Public School district and its students.
